Community Outreach Project

At each of our retreats, we do some kind of community outreach project.
This quilt is a result of the 2016 Spring Ladies of the Lake Quilt Retreat. JoAnne S. taught us this quilt block pattern. Each made a few blocks and I brought all the blocks home with me. Here they are a year later, pieced into a quilt and ready to donate as a Quilt of Valor.

This year at spring retreat, we asked each guest to bring 2 1/2" strips of bright fabric. We are calling this our Tandem quilt as we just kept passing strips around, taking turns adding them to make this sweet little quilt top. It will be donated as a hospital comfort quilt.

We collected enough strips to make a 2nd one of these that will be made into a baby quilt and given to the chef at the retreat center to help welcome his first child.
