Quilt Circle July Meeting

First, I am proud to announce that, from our porch sale of quilted items, we raised $900 for our local library, a pay-back for all the days we spend stitching together there. Thank you to all who donated quilt items to sell and thank you to all who purchased them!

Now on to QC show and share:
Joyce's quilt from our half square triangle exchange.

Joyce is also a member of an online quilters group that has been challenged to make something from a panel. Joyce simply added a border to the panel for the quilt top.

Then she glammed it up a bit for the back.

Jackie shared this great Quilt of Valor made by a quilter friend and machine quilted by Jackie.

And another quilt recently finished for the same friend.

Lonnie showed us this little shop sample she just made. She added the little flange just to give it that little extra attitude.

And her backing - more chickens. Cute.

Deb saw this on Pinterest and whipped it up. It's made with 2 1/2" strips so it is Jelly Roll friendly and maybe even a good way to use up left over Jelly Roll strips from other projects.

Read Deb's face - - "Loving the block but not loving the process on this particular block pattern."

Here is Trish's finished quilt from our half square exchange, on it's way to the Iowa State Fair.

Margaret shared this picture of a baby quilt she made for a great grand child. Cute, long-legged birds!

Kathy shared these little Pack It In bags, a pattern from "byAnnie". Well written pattern, easy to make, practical to use AND very cute.
Here are a couple more Pack It In bags Kathy made for shop samples. These are the small and medium size bags. We have the pattern, stabilizer (Soft and Stable) and mesh in stock.

We have not done a group project for a while so, I gave each member one of our cloth license plates with the challenge to make something with it. If you are a member and missed club this month, stop by and ask me for your plate. Below is my idea for using the cloth plate.

I closed the meeting with a quick demo on the Becca Bag, a drawing for 1 yard of fabric and Orange Cake to celebrate another great year at Adel Quilting & Dry Goods Co!

As always, thank you to Jackie O for taking all these pictures and  thank you to all of my Quilt Circle of Friends for being just that.
