Registration for class now open

Registration is now open for the Collage Quilting Class in Adel on October 15 and 29.

To register, send your email address to adel.quilting@gmail.com. I will respond with a Square invoice. You do not need a Square account for this type of transaction.

No sewing machine required for this class.

Fee for both classes is $69 and includes the following:

Karen K Buckley scissors (recommended)

Steam a Seam for project

Background fabric

Assortment of fabrics to choose from for project

Special speaker with trunk show

Optional supply to order in advance is a see through pressing sheet that can be fused on. See photo example below.

Above 2 pictures are 3 yard bundles - 108" x 108".  Also available to cut by the yard in pieces up to 3 yards.

 

This is the last of the wide backs in flannel. These bundles are 2 1/2 yards - 90" x 108".  Also available to order by the yard in up to 2 1/2 yard cuts.

Temperature Quilt Update

The average high temp in central Iowa for July was 86.1 degrees. That puts us in the watermelon shade of our color temperature chart.

My stack of blocks in getting pretty big so I decided to start sewing them together.

My rows are vertical and each row represents 1 year. I hope to make 10 years worth so this quilt will be 10 rows of 12 blocks per row. How's that for some planned procrastination?

It is cool though, to already see how the colors will wash across the quilt. This is all of 2021 and year to date of 2022.

 

String Book Bags

When the twins were here last weekend, I helped them each make a string book bag for a Vacation Bible School project.  

Their VBS went from 9 am to 3 pm for 5 days last week. One day, they stuffed the bags they had made with school supplies to go to families in need.

 

Hats off to the group of volunteers at St Petri's that made this happen. What a wonderful opportunity for our children and grandchildren to learn compassion.
