Here it is!

This is the quilt I made from our new Kaffe Fassett fabrics. We will be featuring this in our spring Ladies of the Lake Retreat with demos on a fun little Deb Tucker ruler.

The colors would photograph better if I wanted to go outside but, I DO NOT! It is C-O-L-D here in Iowa.

Deb S tried a new machine quilting pattern on it and I love it. Just perfect for this small quilt.

Beth G. shared this wall hanging with us. This is the original quilt.  

Beth added the little clothes pins so she can change out the small quilt each month using our snowman embroidery block of the month minis from many moons ago. Sweet.

Fabric Dyeing Class

Are you ready for another fabric dyeing class? Maggie Howe from Prairieland Herbs will teach Serendipity fabric dyeing on April 6. These are samples of silk scarves Maggie used with a variety of easily accessible items like onion skins, madder root and Queen Anne's Lace wild flowers. Register soon. All supplies are provided to dye a scarf and a piece of cotton for this class.

Kathy Blomquist and Karen Rebischke were the first to respond to my request for binders for two donation quilts. Thank you ladies. Both quilts are now on their way to to the Mercy PICU.

Here are the quilts, back of one and front of the other. These are just 2 of the 4 that were pieced by guests at our Ladies of the Lake Quilt Retreat from fabric donated by Iowa Comfort quilts and Adel Quilting, machine quilted by Deb S and bound by the aforementioned. Many hands, once again, make light work.

New fabrics

Here is our new selection of Kaffe Fassett's latest assortment. I took advantage of a lovely snowy Sunday Sewday to make this quilt top, featuring these new fabrics. This will be our retreat project for Spring Ladies of the Lake Quilt Retreat at Lake Panorama.

February Quilt Circle of Friends

As a reminder that spring is just around the corner, we snacked on fresh lemon bars.

Member, Nancy Johnson, recently lost her mother so, with the colors of Teal and Tan in mind, we each made her a heart block.

And following that theme, I gave each this 12" heart block pattern.  Feel free to save and print this block pattern if you like.

We are planning to share members heart block patterns and create a block of the month.

The Unveiling

Today

Thank you to all! The weather was spotty but was do-able for about 6 hours today so we go to party.

We are ready!

We have been working all week to get ready for tomorrow including cleaning and rearranging the shop. That always 

generates lots of shop specials.
