Last week was a busy, fun-filled week. I started it
with 5 days spent with these guys.
We had a great time. Here's a break for hot cocoa after playtime in the snow.

Love those rosy cheeks. |
|
And they were so helpful. |
|
Cal had his first sewing lesson, mending the holes in the knee of his pants. |
|
He was very patient and did a great job. |

While in town, I met with quilting friend, Diane Larson, to learn the One Block Wonder quilt made from panels. This is the panel we started with. You start with 7 panels. Stack 6, matching designs, and save 1. From the stacked panels, cut triangles to make One Block Wonder blocks (see book). Then arrange them around the 1 saved panel. |
|
The twins were very helpful in this, too. Calvie was making pizzas with his pieces and Liv tried to find the match for her pieces. |
|
The next day, with the kids all back in school, Diane and I met again to play with the lay out. Isn't this getting prettier?
And I ended the week with these 2 at my house, nieces Lindsay and Jill.
Jill was working on her first quilt and did a very nice job. We had it quilted by the end of the day.
Lindsay came with 4 quilt tops and she got them all quilted that day. Plus she drove 2 1/2 hours to get here and 2 1/2 hours back home. Oh to be that young again! I am so glad they came and we look forward to scheduling another Sew Day at Aunt Jac's. |

I googled the Panel One Block Wonders and there are some stunners! Love this iris version.
