Fall Retreat is coming!

Our Ladies of the Lake Quilt Retreats are October 21 to 23 and 24 to 26 at Lake Panorama. We have 2 openings left in the first retreat (Monday thru Wednesday) and a few more in the 2nd retreat (Thursday thru Saturday).

Join us to learn how to take 7 of these panels - - - 

Stack 6 of them and cut into 60 degree triangles - - - 

and from each of these stacks - - - 

- - - make a bunch of these into half-hexies.

Now you play. Using the 7th panel as the base, make rows with the half-hexies to create your version of this.

A few new samples!

Another Bermuda Triangle

Jan brought in the first few rows of her Bermuda Triangle Mystery Quilt for me to see. She picked an eggplant grunge with gold metallic smears for her background. Looks great, doesn't it?!

The Strip Poker Run continues through September 30. Stop in during the Des Moines Quilt Show to pick up your free pattern and to choose a free Cotton Candy Strip to go with.

Des Moines Area Quilters Guild

DMAQG’s annual quilt show, “We Color the World,” opens tomorrow. Join us at the Cultural Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, September 26-28. Show hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on September 26 and 27 and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 28. Tickets are $7 at the door.

The show will fill all three floors of the Cultural Center and will feature over 500 quilts, including special exhibits such as “Color Me With Wool” and “Textile Rainbow” art quilts. Free demonstrations and Quilt Turnings will take place during the three days of the show. Vendors from six states will display and sell goods.
