Nancy Johnson was in town to pick up quilts from the long armer so she stopped in to show me.

She made this one with Flo's Puppy Quilt pattern. I love the scrappy colors.

Nancy didn't have the full puppy panel so she created this large block, pulling from her stash of orphan parts and pieces.

This is a baby quilt she put together to add to her church's supply of donation comfort quilts.

And another for her church.

Her favorite part of this quilt is this verse she featured in the center of the quilt. 

 

Quilter looking for help - - -

Susan E needs help finishing the machine quilting on a top. She has layered and started quilting but cannot finish the job.

New kits!

I snagged this picture from All People Quilts instagram post. Isn't this a fun border?  

Looks like just two cheater corners on rectangles for the sides and one cheater corner on a square for the corners.

Also kinda looks like pumpkins.

Mindy's Show and Share

Mindy Reed brought in this quilt top to show. This one goes to the next "bun in the oven" grandchild. Very sweet.

How cute is this?!?

Caroline Bollman dropped this quilt top off for our machine quilter, Lynette Heetland of Hugs and Stitches Long Arm Quilting, to pick up. It is just adorable.

It's Apple Muffin time of year.

We have a family favorite apple muffin recipe and Willow asked me to send it to her.

Home school 101. She is on a 2 week quarantine due to a positive test of a student in her classroom. Willow says she is living her best life as an only child - - temporarily.

 

Here is my version of the recipe, Apple Crunch Muffins from the Kitchen Klatter Cookbook. 

Where I have written in that "I use 1/4 C", that means the amount of batter placed in each paper baking cup to "yield" (not yeild) 16. When it comes to the topping, I usually double that!

If you have ever used a Kitchen Klatter recipe, you know they always include all of their own brand of spices and seasonings. In place of the Kitchen Klatter Butter Flavoring (unless you have that in your cabinet) I use vanilla.

Sunday Sewday

 

This is what I worked on Sunday, a dolly for a new great niece and a new shop sample wall hanging. It still needs the hand work on the binding.

The wall hanging was very easy to put together and I used Insulbrite for the snowmen. No color bleed through and a sweet, fuzzy texture.

Another AISH prize winner

 

Enola from Wiota stopped in to pick up her prize, a mesh tote bag kit from ByAnnie.  

Enola was especially excited because she had purchased netting when she was in our shop during the hop and had already made one of these bags (pattern was featured in the AISH magazine). With this new kit, she is eager to make another!

Notice in the bottom border, she inserted a smaller version of our inspiration block - Light at the end of the Tunnel. Cute!

Bonnie's Challenge Quilt

Remember the Quilt Circle of Friends challenge? Members were given the pattern by Eleanor Burns, Circle of Friends, and a 10" square of fabric. The challenge was to make something using this pattern and the square.

Bonnie quilted circles all over and is inviting QC members to stop by the shop in the next 2 weeks to sign in one of the circles.

New Shop Sample

Here's an easy, functional and pretty project; a bed runner. We used a Moda panel featuring a variety of floral prints.

Place this across the end of your bed to brighten the room or protect your quilt from where you sit to put on your shoes - - -  wait- - let's be honest here - - - where you sit to put on your house slippers - - - or place it across the pillows at the top of your bed.

Got these off in the mail to the Iowa Grands. Most of these came from the Moda panel for masks. I am hearing they like the masks with the adjustable straps best because they don't hurt their ears

These half yard assortments are now on sale for $25 each. These have been some of the popular choices for mask making.

I have just placed an order for more 1/4" white elastic. Coming this fall, 1/4" elastic will also be available in colors and I have ordered it in aqua and red.

One more note on masking up - we now have the flexible nose pieces available, 5 for $2.50. 

This in addition to mask kits and pre-made masks.  Guess you could say we got you covered!
