Angel Tree Update
Below is a list of names on our 2019 Angel Tree. Some of these names have already been adopted but there are still several children to choose from that would really appreciate a gift of love for Christmas.
If you would prefer to sponsor an Angel and let us do your shopping for you, just give us a call. We already have a holiday pillow case ready for each Angel on the tree to use as the gift bag, free to you.

Queens for the Day!
Another retreat tradition is to do some type of charity quilt. This year, we did a relay piecing race with teams of 4. The winning team was crowned "Queens for the Day". Notice a couple of these speedy stitchers won the honor in both retreats!
Retreat 2 winners.
Retreat 1 winners.
We made 144 blocks in just minutes. We should be able to put together 3 quilts for our charity from this stack of blocks.
In a lay-out like this:
These blocks were cut from strip sets of 4, 2 1/2" strips. Sue took the scrap ends from the strip sets, after 4 blocks had been cut, and made this charity quilt!

October Quilt Circle of Friends
We just finished up another lovely evening with our Quilt Circle of Friends. We caught up on quilt news and baby news. Welcome to Emmet Michael, first grandchild to Nancy and Barry Hagelberg. Nancy has been making Baby Maker quilts for this young couple for several years and one must have finally worked!
Circle member, Deanna Darrah won a Gift Certificate prize from the recent Strip Poker Run. Congrats to you, Deanna.
Then it was time to head around the circle of show and tell.
Macey is our youngest member. She has been coming with Grandma Celia.
She showed us this pillow case and bag she made.
Celia finished up this darling Kimber Bell Block of the Month.
Sue is making progress. Her stack of flowers is starting to be rows!
Sue used this little magnet in lieu of pins or glue stick for her English Paper Piecing on the flowers.
On she goes to her next quilt.
In between, Sue has been keeping up with our Bermuda Triangle Block of the Month.
Customers were challenged to pick their own background fabric for this block of the month. Her is Abbie's first several rows.
And Deanna's - - - -
And Trish's. This background fabric is kind of like newsprint with small words and signs.
This is another BOM Abbie is building.
And this is just 2 of the two t-shirt quilts Abbie has made for a man and wife veteran duo.
Trish had a creative whim and decided to draft and make an applique' quilt using a variety of little camp fire blocks.
Margaret finished this lovely blue quilt top.
This is one of two baby quilts Nancy J made for Warrior Wagons.
And she shared her Ruth Bader Ginsberg socks. Cute!
Deb's quilt is really growing! Just 3 more rows.
Deb machine quilted these two tops donated by Penny White for Warrior Wagons.
Lonnie showed us this 12" quilt.
And she did a "dammo" to show us how to use this tool as an easier way to make Jelly Roll rugs. It's called Jerry's Jelly Roll Jig.
A close up - - - Feed the strips in one end and they come out the other end, folded and ready to stitch.
Kathy used up all of her scraps making this cool quilt. Well, maybe not ALL of her scraps.
More of her scraps went into this string quilt.
In between scrappy quilts, Kathy made this beauty. It's a gift for her son and daughter in law.
Here's a close up of the back to show the circular quilting on the plush backing. One big heavy quilt for a Minnesota couple.
Deanna showed us this Cathedral Window quilt, hand pieced by her mother during long car rides in the 50s and 60s. Stunning.
And she shared this little Bat quilt she just finished.
This is Deanna's version of our pumpkin row from Strip Poker Run. She machine quilted around every polka dot in the background fabric. Cute.
Here is my One Block Wonder Panel quilt again. This time, pieced, quilted and bound. Done!
I did a little demo of these Magic Clips and then it was time to snack on vegetables (popcorn and candy corn), etc.
Thank you to all, especially Jackie O for taking all of these pictures.
