New Stuff!

A few new bolts just came in:
ombre, folded to show both sides

knitting lambs and coordinates

holiday fabrics - snowmen and toy soldiers

Also new, Kathy H has written another pattern to feature a panel. This time, her pattern is featuring this panel from Moda called Thickets.

For the barn lovers, this is a new panel. The top 1/3 features the barn and the rest is all sunflower print. I trimmed the sunflower portion off and used it for the backing fabric to make this little wall hanging.

Custom Sewing Request

I have a customer looking for someone to make Roman shades. Does any one have a referral for that? Something like the shades shown in this picture.

Open Sew Pics

This is Nancy J's Movie Star quilt. She took artistic license to rearrange the center pieces.
Here is the original pattern lay out. Isn't it fun, playing with blocks?

Katherine was new to Open Sew. A veteran at hand stitching, she is tackling machine piecing now. We enjoyed stitching with her.

I worked on this challenge quilt. The challenge was to make a lap quilt using the small blue print. I backed it with a bright red plush. These quilts will eventually go to a nursing home as a comfort quilt so, I thought the plush would be nice.

Quilt Circle of Friends June Meeting

We took another look at Margaret's Barn Sign Quilt. I just love those pops of pink!

Marti shared this little quilt. She named it, "That which goes unused returns to nature." Thus explaining the vines growing up around the machine.

Celia showed us this little wall hanging, a collectible from Quilters Cupboard.

And she made this very pretty travel bag.

Trish shared her Barn Sign quilt. It checked off one of her bucket list items, making a shadow block. Nice and I love the backing!

Here's Margaret's Northern Lights - - - -

And her musical wall hanging, a kit from Block Party Studio.

Marti made this 3 D quilt.

And Lonnie has been making bags!

Nancy H shared her progress on her Get Er Done quilt - - -

and this happy quilt made for her daughter.

Deb recaptured this big happy quilt from her son to show us.

and we admired her new quilting design, shown here close up on her Barn Sign quilt. Very cool.
Here is Theresa's quilt from our half square triangle exchange. She didn't let the brightness stop on the front!

Wrapping up this series of bright quilts, Bonnie shared this little gem.

We closed another great evening with my Quilt Circle of Friends with a demo on making an easy quilt hanging pocket and topped the evening off with a little ice cream and cookies. Really hit the spot on this hot Iowa evening.

Quilting Cousins!

These cousins gathered from all around the state to shop and quilt together. There have just one rule. You have to bring a project. Otherwise, it's just a reunion!
They were having such a great time today. We hope they stop again soon!

Quilt Circle Special Exhibit

This year, at our outdoor quilt show, we featured the Barn Sign Quilts made by members of Quilt Circle of Friends. This is a current BOM in the shop, tested by QC members. They received a block pattern each month and chose their own fabrics and settings.

The Quilts are Hung!

It's warm out but there is a very nice breeze and tons of shade in our yard plus, remember, it's always nice in Adel!

The crew was all here, bright and early, to start hanging quilts.
Julia is busy arranging the "for sale" items. All proceeds from this sale go to the Adel Library where we love to gather and sew.

Kathy is arranging quilt tags so customers can read a little about each quilt.
Then along comes Lonnie to number and record each quilt.
