Moda's Grunge Temperature quilt chart

Who wants to do a temperature quilt with me? This is a chart from Moda featuring their Grunge fabrics but you can use any fabric with this as a color guide.

My plan is to make 1 blocks a month using fabrics in the color that represents the average temperature here for the month.

I'll start with January when the average temp in central Iowa was 23 so my first block is blue-ish greens.
We will always be a little behind as we wait to find the average temp of the month.

I'm going to use this 9" Irish Chain block for mine. I think the chains across the block will create a really fun secondary color pattern.  Here is the cutting information:
        Color:     8 - 2" squares
                       1 - 3 1/2" square
        Background:   4 - 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles
                                4 - 2" x 6 1/2" rectangles

Who wants to stitch along? I will post the temps and my blocks here as well as on our FB page.
