Sisters of the Cloth kicked off their 2018 series of classes last Saturday with a very interesting program by Millie Kehrli on 1800s designer, William Morris and William Morris fabrics.

Here she models a William Morris scarf and book. |
Millie also brought a few of her own quilts to share. |
This was started by a previous generation and finished by Millie. |
-- a quilt top she is working on based on an Elaine Belling class. |
Another Elaine Belling inspired quilt top, for this one, she was encouraged to take left over pieces and parts and stitch them together. |
- - - and another "remnant" quilt. Love it |
Sue D. shared this little quilt that came in the mail to her, along with a sweet note, from a granddaughter, a thank you for time recently spent together at the sewing machine. |
This old quilt has been in the family for generations and has been well loved. |
Just to refresh the pallet, here is a modern quilt made with the Sidekick Ruler from Key Facet fabrics. So pretty. |
With this pretty back. |
Jan showed us this Civil War era beauty. |
This corner cut out tells us it was made for a Four Poster Bed. |
This lovely quilt center was once a quilt top, gifted to an ancestor as a going away gift from her place of employment. Marty inherited it, added the borders and hand quilted it. Beautiful. |
Kris shared this block of the month quilt she recently finished. Nice! |
Another contemporary quilt, this one from Tuila Pink fabrics. |
Guests were offered Elongated Hexies to use for hand stitching while they listened to the program along with some William Morris Christmas fabrics to play with.
We also discussed making some outreach blocks. We will post those pictures as the blocks come back in at our September gathering.
The meeting was closed with donuts and coffee from Brick Street Bakery and lots of friendly chatter as new friends were made an old friends reunited.
